He was born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujrat. He, in his childhood, used to help his father in selling tea at their tea stall. He joined RSS, an Indian religious political party when he was eight years old.
He left his home due to the pressure of his arranged marriage. In 1971, he became the full-time active worker for the RSS. After he was assigned to Bharti Janta Party (BJP) in 1985, he held many important positions in the party and continued to step up his position. In 2001, he was elected as the Chief Minister of Gujrat, a major state of India.
In 2014, Modi led the BJP in general elections and swept a majority in Indian Parliament’s lower house, named LokSabha.
